Amazon Prime Video launches AI lip-sync dubbing that aligns actor mouth movements to translated audio, debuting with the German series Maxton Hall — following similar moves by Meta and YouTube for creator content.

Prime Video is rolling out a new AI feature that matches an actor's visible lip movements to human-dubbed audio in a different language. The technology combines AI and visual effects to make dubbed content feel less obviously foreign-language — a long-standing frustration for viewers of international TV. The feature launches exclusively with the English dub of the German series Maxton Hall (seasons 1 and 2 are available globally now; season 3 comes December 9th). Prime Video says it plans to expand the feature to additional titles but gave no timeline or scale. The broader industry context: Meta and YouTube both introduced AI lip-sync for creator content recently, letting creators appear to speak natively in a viewer's language. Prime Video is applying the same concept to scripted drama. Last year, Prime Video tested AI-aided dubbing across 12 titles in English and Spanish. This iteration goes further by synchronizing the visual performance to the audio, not just translating the script.
