Wistron has opened its first U.S. manufacturing facility in Fort Worth, Texas — a 324,000-square-foot greenfield factory now producing NVIDIA's most advanced AI processors. The D1 facility runs two production cells: one building the GB300 Grace Blackwell Ultra Superchip and a second coming online for the Vera Rubin Superchip. The $700 million facility currently employs over 500 workers, with plans to expand to 1,000 by end of 2026. NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang and Wistron Chairman Simon Lin attended the opening ceremony. Huang framed the plant as part of U.S. reindustrialization, noting it spans both skilled and trades employment — manufacturing, electrical, plumbing — not just technology roles. NVIDIA has pledged to manufacture up to $500 billion in AI platforms domestically; the Fort Worth plant is one project making that number concrete. Production is scaling to tens of thousands of boards per month in 2026. Notably, Wistron designed and simulated the entire facility in a digital twin built on NVIDIA's own AI tools — Nemotron and Cosmos models, Omniverse, and PhysicsNX — before construction began, making this one of the first large-scale uses of AI tooling to plan an AI hardware factory.
