NVIDIA has officially released the GeForce NOW native Linux app out of beta, targeting Ubuntu 24.04 and later via a new Flatpak repository. The release follows months of community feedback focused on performance and stability. Simultaneously, NVIDIA has optimized DLSS Frame Generation in the cloud, reducing latency and improving responsiveness at 60 and 120 fps in 1440p and 4K. Performance tier members also get server-side CPU optimizations for demanding games, deployed automatically with no client-side action required. NVIDIA is also promoting GeForce NOW as a Chromebook gaming platform, with eligible new Chromebook and Chromebook+ owners receiving a free year of service via Chromebook Fast Pass. Nine new games joined the cloud library this week. The AI connection is tangential: DLSS Frame Generation uses neural rendering to interpolate frames, but this is primarily a cloud gaming product update with limited direct relevance to AI practitioners.
