CloudNC secured $20M led by Nimble Ventures, with Lockheed Martin's venture arm participating, to scale its AI CNC programming tool CAM Assist — now active in 1,000+ machine shops including Lockheed Martin and Major Tool and Machine — and launch an AI quoting product in late 2026.

CloudNC, a London-based AI machining company founded in 2015, has raised $20M in a round led by Nimble Ventures, with Calculus Venture Capital, Entrepreneur First, and LM Ventures (Lockheed Martin's VC fund) participating. The company previously attracted backing from Atomico and Episode 1 Ventures, alongside strategic partnerships with Autodesk and Lockheed Martin. CAM Assist, CloudNC's flagship product, automates CNC programming by generating machining strategies and toolpaths from CAD/CAM models. The software is now deployed across 1,000+ machine shops globally, with several hundred US facilities and confirmed enterprise users including Lockheed Martin and Major Tool and Machine. The tool targets the transition phase between part design and factory production, letting machinists increase throughput without additional headcount. The funding will go toward go-to-market expansion, technical support, and international partnerships. A new product, Quote Agent, is slated for late 2026. It applies AI to job estimating and part pricing — a major manual burden for suppliers quoting complex engineering drawings — with the goal of reducing turnaround time and margin errors. The Lockheed Martin connection is strategic: the defense prime is both a commercial customer and now an investor, providing industrial-grade validation and a clear alignment with US defense supply chain and onshoring priorities.
