IBM and Google Cloud launched a new Google Cloud Practice combining IBM Consulting Advantage — IBM's AI-powered delivery platform for designing, building, and deploying AI solutions — with Google Cloud's Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform, cybersecurity stack, and data capabilities. Thousands of Google Cloud-certified IBM consultants will help enterprises deploy AI, modernize legacy systems, and manage hybrid cloud environments. IBM is building a portfolio of industry-specific AI agents optimized for Gemini Enterprise, covering banking, government, retail, telecommunications, energy, security, insurance, and life sciences. The announcement includes a concrete prior success: IBM consultants and Google Cloud helped Airbus spin out two aerospace businesses into fully independent operations in under 18 months, updating more than 100 critical systems. Both companies describe this as a 'multi-billion-dollar opportunity' in Google Cloud Services. The practical implication: IBM's enterprise consulting relationships and Google's AI infrastructure are being formally bundled. For enterprises currently on Google Cloud or considering it, IBM consulting services will now be available with pre-built agents and reusable transformation assets optimized for Gemini.
