Slack's new Slackforce Surfaces feature lets users ask Slackbot to build interactive dashboards, polls, presentations, and microsites directly in chat — pulling live data from connected apps like Google Drive and Salesforce. All Slack customers including free-tier can use it now; live data connections start in October 2026.

Slack has introduced Slackforce Surfaces, a feature that turns Slackbot into a generative UI builder inside channels. Instead of exporting data to external tools, users describe what they need — a customer support queue dashboard, a financial forecast, an AI token usage visualization — and Slackbot assembles an interactive, shareable artifact in place. The feature connects to apps like Google Drive and Salesforce, pulling only data that users have already authorized for Slack's AI tools. Surfaces can be pinned to channels, commented on, and viewed by teammates, making them collaborative artifacts rather than one-off exports. Slackforce Surfaces is rolling out to all customers including free-tier users with Slackbot enabled. Static Surfaces are available now; live data connections launch in October 2026. This follows Slack adding collaborative vibe coding channels last month and a broader Slackbot overhaul earlier this year. This positions Slack against Notion and Coda for embedded data experiences, but with the advantage of staying inside existing chat workflows. CMO Ryan Gavin framed it as building dashboards right where the conversation already is.
