Snowflake is rolling out what it calls the biggest restructuring of its partner program since the company went public. The centerpiece is a mandatory requirement: all Data Cloud Services partners must adopt three Snowflake platforms—CoCo (Cortex Copilot), CoWork, and Cortex AI—by November 2, 2026, or risk losing partner status. The investment commitment is significant: Snowflake claims more than $120 million in ecosystem funding for FY2026, more than double what it deployed in FY2024. This includes new co-sell incentives, joint go-to-market funding, and what Snowflake describes as an 'agentic enterprise' partnership tier focused on AI workloads running on the Snowflake platform. Cortex AI is Snowflake's managed LLM inference and fine-tuning layer, launched in 2024 and steadily expanded. Making Cortex AI adoption mandatory for partners is a significant forcing function: Snowflake is effectively requiring its ecosystem to route AI workloads through its own stack rather than competing platforms. The announcement positions Snowflake directly against Databricks and other data platform vendors in the race to become the default AI compute layer for enterprise data. Mandatory partner platform adoption is a common consolidation strategy, but the November 2026 deadline gives the ecosystem less than a year to comply.
